Getting Started

Getting Started with DBEverywhere

DBEverywhere gives you browser-based access to your databases through phpMyAdmin and Adminer. You connect to your own databases from any browser without installing software, managing Docker containers, or setting up SSH tunnels on your local machine. DBEverywhere acts as a secure gateway between your browser and your database.

Create an Account

  1. Go to dbeverywhere.com and click Get Started.
  2. Enter your email address.
  3. Check your inbox for a sign-in link (it expires in 15 minutes).
  4. Click the link to log in. No password needed.

You'll land on your dashboard, ready to connect.

Connect to a Database

  1. From the dashboard, click New Connection.
  2. Select your database type (MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, etc.).
  3. Enter your connection details: host, port, username, password, and database name.
  4. Click Connect.

DBEverywhere tests the connection first. If it succeeds, you're dropped into phpMyAdmin (for MySQL/MariaDB) or Adminer (for everything else) and can start working immediately.

Before you connect, make sure DBEverywhere's IP address is whitelisted in your database firewall. Most managed databases block connections from unknown IPs by default. See How to Whitelist DBEverywhere's IP Address for instructions.

Using phpMyAdmin or Adminer

Once connected, you're working directly in phpMyAdmin or Adminer — the same tools you may already know. You can browse tables, run queries, import and export data, and manage users and permissions.

Your session stays active until the timeout is reached. You can end it early from the dashboard by clicking End Session.

Free Tier

The free plan includes:

  • Unlimited sessions
  • 15-minute session timeout
  • The same static IP to whitelist as paid users
  • No saved connections

This is enough to handle quick database checks, one-off queries, or trying out the service.

Paid Plan — $5/month

The paid plan is built for real working sessions:

  • 8-hour session timeout
  • Saved connections — store your database details so you reconnect in one click instead of re-entering them every time
  • Encrypted credential storage — anything you save is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM
